David H. Sternlieb is a trial lawyer concentrating his practice in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury matters, products liability, criminal defense, discrimination, sexual harassment, DWI/DUI, traffic violations and workers' compensation. After graduating from Middlebury College (B.A. History, 1985) and New York Law School (J.D. 1988), David was admitted to practice before bars of the State of New Jersey and United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1988 and the bar of the State of New York in 1989. His law school honors included selection to the New York Law School Moot Court Board.
David began his career prosecuting a wide variety of criminal matters as an assistant district attorney with the Office of the Kings County District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York and then as an assistant prosecutor with the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Upon entering private practice, David established himself as an excellent trial lawyer, winning millions of dollars worth of verdicts and settlements for his clients and their families, and, in successfully defending the rights of those accused of serious indictable offenses.
Since forming Shapiro & Sternlieb, LLC in 1995, David and his partner, Gary Shapiro, have gained an outstanding reputation for their thorough, professional and tenacious advocacy on behalf of their clients. David is a proud member of the following organizations:
